I know I have animals attracted to me, but this trip is further proof.
Exhibit A: We go to an animal rescue operation near Iguazu falls. As we're looking at some monkeys, one of them rushes over to the edge of the cage and flips around. The guide says: "He wants you to scratch his back". Eventually Melissa also ends up scratching his back. Reminds me of the Saturday Night Live skit where they say "would you like to touch my monkey?" She did!
Exhibit B: Margarine!
That's what I named my butterfly friend from Iguazu falls. She met me somewhere along the way, and stuck with me throughout. Eventually I had to leave her, for her own safety, before we got to the main falls.
Exhibit C: We were walking around Pucon in Chile. In the middle of the street, a dog comes over and decides that he is my pet. Walks around the rest of the town with us. Eventually, I have to run into the hostel because the dog is not letting us go. The dog hangs out in front of the hostel for about an hour waiting for us to come back out.
What will be next? A llama? Only time will tell...
Too funny! And that butterfly is beautiful...
